Dr. Simone is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and is board-certified in adult psychiatry. She is board certified in adolescent psychiatry through the American Board of Adolescent Psychiatry (ABAP). She completed psychiatry residency at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Simone served as Chief Resident for her psychiatry program as well as Chief Resident of the Anxiety Disorders clinic. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Psychiatric Education & Research Foundation Excellence in Psychiatric Education Award and American Psychiatric Association Resident Recognition Award.
Throughout her career, Dr. Simone has worked with adolescents and young adults in various settings including academic centers, private practice, partial hospitalization, and Wraparound. Aside from her clinical work, she serves as Board Director for the American Board of Adolescent Psychiatry and as a member of the Administration and Operations Committee for the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry. She hosts a monthly adolescent and young adult case discussion with fellow psychiatrists, hosts a quarterly journal club focused on youth mental health, and writes for Psychiatric Times. Dr. Simone values a collaborative and compassionate treatment approach and is committed to working with youth and their families at Community West.
