
Sacha Bollas, Psy.D., Msc is a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in West Los Angeles. Dr. Bollas has extensive experience applying the knowledge of clinical psychology and psychoanalysis to the challenge of creating meaningful and pragmatically effective treatment programs that address the unique challenges of that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. Dr. Bollas was born and raised in the United Kingdom where he studied as a fine artist (sculpture) before receiving a BA in Art History and Cultural Studies at Sussex University. He earned a Master of Science Degree at University College London Psychology department. This unique course in Theoretical Psychoanalytical Studies covers historical and current theoretical developments worldwide, and is largely taught by fellows of the British Institute of Psychoanalysis together with scholars from related fields.
He received his clinical psychology doctorate from the Wright Institute in Berkeley California. He is a candidate in psychoanalytic training at the Los Angeles Institute and Society of Psychoanalytic Studies (LAISPS). He has expertise working with children, adolescents, and adults in both group and individual psychotherapy in a variety of settings including treatment centers. His clinical interests include the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, schizophrenia and trauma. He has lectured extensively on the psychodynamics of eating disorders, and is presently teaching and supervising postdoctoral fellows at the Wright Institute Los Angeles.
