Dr. Barnett is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in General Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Yale University and his medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where he received the Isaac Ray Award in Psychiatry. He completed his adult psychiatry residency at the Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School and his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. He also completed additional post-fellowship training in childhood mood disorders through the UCLA Max Gray Fellowship Program.

Dr. Barnett enjoys supporting patients and families through thorough psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individual therapy. His clinical interests include the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders in adolescents and adults. In addition to his multidisciplinary work at Community West, he serves in several roles in the community, including providing care to UCLA medical trainees and graduate students, contributing to the Psilocybin-Assisted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy study at UCLA, and maintaining a private practice.
